Cooperation between The Faculty of Dentistry, October 6 University & the School of Dentistry, OHIO State University With a view to reaching on understanding on ways and means of cooperation between the Faculty of Dentistry, October 6 University, and the School of Dentistry, OHIO State University, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahim Mohammed, Professor and Head of Geriatric Dentistry, University of Ohio, the Director of Community Outreach and Environmental Development Affairs, met with Prof. Dr. Ahmed Attia Seida, President of O6U University, Prof. Dr. Talaat Rihan, Vice Chairman for Higher Studies, and Dr. Kheireldin AbdelLatif, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees for International Strategies and Cultural Relations. Prof. Dr. Yehyia al-Bughdadi, Dean of the O6U Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Eman Al-Sha'rawi, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Sameh Mekhemar, Vice Dean for Higher Studies and Research also attended the prolonged meeting. Discussions centered on three main axes: • Terms of cooperation and identifying modes of implementation. In this context, meetings and discussions focussed on the following elements: - Various specialties that may permit exchange of visits between staff members, and the number of staff and assistants that can benefit therefrom. - Determining some new specialties that can be introduced to the program in the form of continuing education program and elective courses that mark the faculty with distinction. - Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahim Mohammed lectured on the standards for accreditation of dental schools in USA. Quality Assurance and Accreditation Committee in the Faculty of Dentistry, as well as all other faculties of October 6 university were invited to attend the lecture --along with all members of the Quality Council of October 6 University, the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Committee from many dental schools and members of the National Authority of Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education. • Prof. Dr. Abdel Rehim Mohammad lectured on the Geriatric Dentistry Program. Staff members of different specialties from different Egyptian dental schools interested in such a topic also took part. • Prof. Dr. Abdel Rehim Mohammad expressed his great satisfaction with the facilities that October 6 University provides, including the teaching halls, laboratories, clinics, and even the landscape, the hotel and means of transportation. He praised the university's utilities and facilities that will serve as a cornerstone in implementing and activating prospective cooperation.
