On Wednesday and Thursday 30-11 and 1-12 -2016, Faculty of Medicine ,October 6 University held its Annual Scientific Conference entitled (The impact of scientific researches on the medical practice) at the University Conference Hall. The conference was attended by the Vice Presidents of October 6 University Prof.Dr. Aly Talaat and Prof.Dr.Helmy El Bashbishy , Dean and vice Deans of Faculty of Medicine and the faculty Staffs and Students. The conference events, commenced with the welcome speech of Prof. Dawlat El Miligy Dean of Faculty of Medicine, followed by the welcome speech of Prof.Dr. Helmy El Bashbishy, Vice President of Postgraduate Affairs and Research. The Faculty offered shields of honor to Prof.Amira Hamed, Head of the Radiology Department, the distinguished staff and the technicians for their meticulous work during the setup and training on the new equipments purchased for upgrading the Department including CAT-Scan, MRI, Digital X-Ray and Digital Mammography.
Believing in the belief of the importance of scientific research in enriching the medical practice and educational process, 16 scientific researches belonging to professors and academic staff were presented and all were characterized by being original, applied and directed to serve medical problems that have an impact on the medical practice and help to solve community health problems. Parts of the researches were done in the Advanced Medical Research Unit, that was established during the academic year 2015-2016 and others on the Radiology Department advanced Machines.
At the end of the conference Prof.Dr.Dawlat El-Miligy expressed her appreciation for all the speakers, for their contribution in the conference and for the coordinators of the conference Dr.Hazem Khamis the Head of Cardiology Department and presented the following recommendation:
- The importance of applied scientific research should be addressed to all medical personnel.
- The scientific research should be directed to improve the practice and educational process.
- Applied scientific research should be a priority to solve community health problems.
- Cooperation between different Medical Faculties at October 6 University in a complementary manner should be considered to raise the quality and expectation from medical research.
