An awareness campaign about female circumcision under the slogan: Your daughter is precious, don’t hurt her

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Gamal Samy, President of October 6 University, Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Amr Nadeem, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University, Prof. Dr. Ali Hegazy, Director of the Hospital, and Prof. Dr. Hassan Ajwa, Dean of the College of Education, Implementation and Follow-up Prof. Dr. Azza Al-Ghareeb, Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Fatima Barakat, Vice Dean of the College of Education for Community Service Affairs, The Community Service Sector at the College of Medicine and Surgery, in cooperation with the University Hospital and the College of Education, organized an awareness campaign about female circumcision under the slogan Your daughter is precious, do not hurt her. On Wednesday, February 21, 2024, the campaign targeted patients attending the hospital’s outpatient clinics and students from both colleges. The MSG Medical Sustainability Team from the College of Medicine and teaching assistants from the College of Education distributed awareness brochures to the target groups. The issue was also addressed from the medical as well as religious and social sides. Psychologically, this campaign coincides with the International Day of Female Circumcision during the month of February each year
