October 6 University participates in the National Project for Reading .. And its President: We are ready to compete
October 6 University announces its participation in the National Reading Project, which is a sustainable competitive cultural project that aims to encourage all groups of Egyptian society to read and make it a daily practice for them, and among these groups are university and graduate students, and rewards and prizes totaling 20 million pounds have been allocated for the four dimensions. Of the project.
Dr. Jamal Sami, President of October 6 University, said that the competition procedures are to participate through the project’s website by filling out a data form free of charge, without any fees.
The idea of the competition and its stages is for each contestant to read 30 books in Arabic and summarize them on the project's website, provided that the books are in 5 fields of knowledge, and the contestant competes with his peers in a number of qualifiers at the level of his faculty, then his university, and then at the level of the Republic.
As for competition dates, Dr. Sami said that registration is open on the website until the first qualifiers start in January 2021, and all stages of the qualifiers end at the end of March 2021, and a special ceremony will be held to announce, honor and distribute the winners.

The first winner has a prize of one million pounds, the second winner is half a million pounds, the third winner is a quarter of a million pounds, the winner from the fourth to the tenth is 100 thousand pounds, in addition to medals, certificates of appreciation, and paid cultural trips to the best libraries in the world.
Dr. Sami pointed out that the competition for university students under the name of "The Diamond Code" is one of the four most important dimensions of the project, and it is concerned with competition among all university students of the Arab Republic of Egypt. University students continue to read 30 books and summarize them on the project's website, which makes them eligible to compete with their participating colleagues at the level of facultys, universities and then the Republic according to specific mechanisms and criteria, and this dimension is complementary to what has been achieved in the first dimension of school students, and to ensure the completion of the reading scene Egyptian.
The third dimension is concerned with teachers, and the fourth dimension is the competition between community institutions, including universities, to support the goals of the national project for reading under the name of “the Enlightenment Foundation” to obtain the first positions that are most supportive of the goals of the national reading project. The President of October 6 University stressed the need for university students to participate, explaining that participation in itself is a good thing, and that the university will announce in detail about the competition through its website and the means of communication. The number of students of October 6 University is 25 thousand students, and Dr. Sami confirmed that the university will give additional prizes to students who participated in the competition and were not lucky enough to win.
It should be noted that the National Reading Project was prepared by the UAE Scientific Research Institution and its regional branch in Egypt and Africa, and organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Culture and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.
