October 6 University launches the IHUB Innovation Center in cooperation with IHUB Innovation Center Ain-Shams University

October 6 University plays a major role in discovering and supporting innovation in various disciplines. In May the university started a joint agreement between iHub October 6 University and  iHub Center Ain Shams University. The first introductory seminar was entitled (Create Your Future) and was held on Tuesday, 25/5/2021 with all precautionary measures taken into consideration. The objective was to urge students pay attention to the generation and implementation of ideas. The activities of the first introductory seminar started at 12 noon with the attendance of the following dignitaries: :

1.      Dr. Iman Al-Azizi - Vice President for Education and Student Affairs

2.      Dr. Maged Ghanima - Director of iHub Center, Ain Shams University

3.      Dr. Ahmed Salah Rifqi - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Ula Company and a consultant to the General Investment Authority.

4.      Dr. Omar Shukri Saqr - Founder of Nawat Scientific Company and CEO of the company.

5.      Ms. Jannat Mahmoud Hussein - Executive Director of the Lotus Educational and Rehabilitation Foundation.

With the presence of the deputies, faculty members, the supporting staff, and students from the various faculties of the university.

The introductory seminar began with a talk by Prof. Dr. Iman Al-Azizi, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs. She explained the need to support innovations on campus and emphasized that the path of innovation begins with the generation of ideas and their application in a proper business sense which helps encourage students and researchers to pursue entrepreneurship and achieve the goals..

The dialogue was moderated by Prof. Maged Ghanima - Executive Director of the iHub Center at Ain Shams University, who stressed the importance of innovation, especially in light of the current technological and information developments. He explained the difference between creativity and innovation to clarify what is required of young people and the mechanisms of work within the iHub of October 6 University in cooperation with iHub, Ain Shams University.  He requested the audience to think carefully to elicit and generate ideas and try to find possible solutions for application, which creates an atmosphere of innovation that contributes to solving real problems in our daily lives.

This was confirmed by Dr. Muhammad Ali Ibrahim, Director of the iHub Center at October 6 University, and he explained the university’s keenness to support innovation in all its forms and for all disciplines, and to consider this event as the beginning of the journey to build and generate ideas and translate them on the ground. Dr. Ahmed Salah Rifqi, founder of the science of social systems engineering, was invited to address the audience. He talked about his success story .He mentioned how proud he was to be one of the university graduates.  He mentioned that it was elemental to adhere to one’s dream and always bear in mind the statement “I can” to attain international recognition.

Ms. Jannat Mahmoud, Director of the Lotus Practical and Rehabilitation Foundation, spoke next, mentioning her success story. She graduated from the Faculty of Education. She stated that  “computer is the only hope that can alleviate the suffering of the disabled,” as she designed the Lotus Electronic Test, a test that is now accredited in the Arab world. She has applied the test on 860 children. She also confirmed that this test along with artificial intelligence technology and data mining, helps develop children’s language skills. This program is considered the first program in the Arab world to deal with the analysis of mental processes of language.

 

Dr. Omar Shukry Saqr, founder and CEO of Nawah Education Company, was then invited to speak as the "Guest of the Seminar." Therefore, innovation begins by reflecting on problems and trying to find effective and feasible solutions, then analyzing the extent to which the solution is accepted by users to build start-up projects and create investment opportunities.

The seminar activities included honoring the distinguished guests and speakers, and everyone assured the need to actively participate in the coming period to create a culture of creativity and innovation at university level, and to deepen the sharing of interdisciplinary ideas in various disciplines.
