Description:
It aims at providing knowledge
about commonly used groups of drugs affecting different body systems &
their implications in therapy of diseases & health promotion. It enables
students to understand the safe use of drugs as regards adverse effects,
contraindications & drug interactions. It allows students to have enough
skills & attitude towards selection & use of drugs on rational bases.

Methods
1.Lectures (120
hours = 4 lectures/week for 30 weeks)
2.Practical
sections (60 hours = 2 hours/week for 30 weeks)
Attendance Criteria:
The minimal acceptable attendance is 75%. Students need to
attend at least 60% in order to set for the final examination.
Examination Description:
Formative & Summative exams
- Written, case study & oral for assessment of
knowledge and understanding
- Practical for assessment of practical skills
- Research for training the student how to get medical
information from library and internet websites and how to organize and
present knowledge.
Mark Distribution:
A total of 300
marks equally distributed between the two semesters as follows:
