Faculty of Education hosts a Symposium on Smoking and Drugs Harms and Elimination Methods Report on the Cultural Symposium Under the auspices of Prof. Kheireldin Abdellatif Vice-president for International Strategies and Cultural Relations On Wednesday, 2O October 2010 the Faculty of Education organized a symposium on Smoking and Drugs: Harms and Elimination Methods at (2018), Ahmed Orabi Building. As part of their activities, the symposium organized by the Cultural Committee aimed at raising awareness about bad habits and their negative impact on community and guiding youth to what is well or ill. Deputy Director of Anti-Narcotics General Administration, Major General Zein Al-Abideen Mohammed Al-Refaei was the keynote speakers along with Prof. Abdulmotaleb El-Qureity – Prof. of Psychological Health and Dean of the Faculty. Members of the faculty staff, assistants and students who are aware of the problems of their community attended the symposium and actively participated in the discussions that followed. The Faculty hosted the Deputy Director of Anti-Narcotics General Department, Major General Zein Al-Abideen Mohammed Al-Refaei who was welcomed by Prof. Abdulmotaleb El-Qureity – Prof. of Psychological Health and Dean of the Faculty. Al-Refaei discussed addiction as a concept, its potential psychological, health, social and economic risks, with a special reference to prevention methods designed for youth as the target group, types of drugs, prevalence rates and sources. The talk also tackled the essential role played by the Ministry of Interior, family and society. At the end, the Dean presented the faculty shield to the guest speaker as a taken of appreciation on the tremendous efforts exerted in this regard and his talk which benefited the students.
