As part of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector's efforts at 6th of October University, a comprehensive medical convoy was launched on Tuesday, February 17, 2025, to the village of Minya in Saf, Giza Governorate. The convoy aimed to provide healthcare services to residents and promote public health awareness.
The Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology at 6th of October University played an active role in the convoy's activities. The faculty team included teaching assistants Aya Salam and Habiba Atef, along with several students who collaborated efficiently in carrying out their assigned tasks.
The faculty was responsible for conducting laboratory tests for advanced cases, including: Triglycerides (TG), Hemoglobin (Hb), Creatinine (Creat), Albumin, Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV). Forty samples were analyzed from patients referred from various clinics within the convoy.
This activity exemplifies the integration of academic work and community service, as the faculty team also contributed to raising health and nutritional awareness among the local community. The convoy also highlighted the need for continuous health services in remote areas, emphasizing the leading role of 6th of October University in supporting sustainable health development goals and strengthening its commitment to serving and developing the community.
