The Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology at 6th of October University congratulates student Ahmed Montaser Mohamed, a fourth-year student in the Biotechnology Department, on his outstanding achievement at the Science at the Core of Innovation Conference (SCI Conference), held at Cairo University. His project, "Collagen Extraction from Fish Waste," was presented as part of a research team from Ain Shams and Benha Universities. The project focused on producing collagen as an alternative source, given the local market's reliance on imported animal sources, aiming to provide a safe, sustainable, and locally sourced collagen. The product was also developed by converting collagen into nanoparticles, which enhances absorption efficiency and increases bioavailability, opening the door to multiple uses, most notably:
Skincare products (Serums & Creams)
Wound healing
This comes after the Collixir project previously won the entrepreneurship incubator for scientific projects at Helwan University (Biocluster) and received funding from the Scientific Research Authority.
The project was recognized as one of the outstanding ideas at the conference 🤩
We are proud of you… and wish you continued success 👏🏻
