Recycling as an Approach to Innovation in Contemporary Thought

As part of the Faculty of Engineering's commitment to promoting environmental awareness and fostering the values ​​of innovation and renewal in engineering and architecture, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hinar Abu El-Magd and organized by Dr. Amani Saqr, held a scientific seminar entitled: “Recycling as an Approach to Innovation in Contemporary Thought.” The seminar took place on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 11:30 AM in VIP Hall (1126).

The seminar was presented by Professor Dr. Vita Abdel Rahim, Professor of Architecture, who discussed the importance of recycling as a new methodology that contributes to the development of contemporary engineering thought. She focused on the concept of sustainability and the role of reusing materials and waste in producing innovative design solutions.

The seminar also highlighted how recycling can be integrated into modern engineering and creative practices, and its impact on reducing the environmental impact of urban development projects. In addition, it presented a range of practical examples that contribute to promoting innovative thinking within the field of architecture. The seminar witnessed a distinguished attendance from faculty members, students, and other interested individuals, who participated in enriching discussions that reflected a clear interest in developing environmental and design awareness within the college.

At the conclusion of the seminar, Professor Vita Abdel Rahim emphasized the importance of continuing scientific research in the field of recycling and linking it to sustainable design, noting that innovation in this context is a pressing necessity to keep pace with the evolving landscape of contemporary thought.
