Sanitary Engineering: From Concept to Implementation
As part of the Faculty of Engineering's commitment to enhancing students' scientific and applied awareness, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector organized a workshop entitled "Sanitary Engineering: From Concept to Implementation," under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hinar Abu El-Magd, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The workshop was presented by Dr. Islam El-Shafei, who covered the fundamental concepts of sanitary engineering and its importance in improving environmental quality and preserving human health. He also reviewed the stages of implementing sanitary engineering projects, from concept and planning through design to actual execution.
The workshop included a presentation on the most important systems used in water and wastewater networks, explaining the latest methods and technologies employed in this field. It also addressed the challenges that may arise during the implementation of these projects and how to overcome them.
The workshop was distinguished by its practical component, showcasing a diverse range of tools and components used in sanitary engineering work. Dr. El-Shafei demonstrated these practically to the students, explaining their functions and how to use them. This approach effectively bridged the gap between theory and practice, enhancing the students' understanding. The workshop witnessed significant student engagement, with numerous questions and discussions enriching the scientific content and enhancing participants' practical understanding.
This workshop reflects the college's commitment to supporting scientific and educational activities that contribute to developing successful engineering professionals.
