 Celebrating World Patient Safety Week

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Amr Nadim, Dean of the Faculty, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Azza El-Gharib, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, the Faculty's Human Rights Committee participated in organizing an educational awareness day entitled Pharmacovigilance in cooperation with the Drug Information Center at the hospital, the Agency for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs at the Faculty of Pharmacy, and the Pharmacovigilance Center at the Egyptian Drug Authority. The day included a seminar on pharmacovigilance and the importance of reporting adverse drug effects. A delegation from the Egyptian Drug Authority attended the seminar, and the seminar was attended by the faculty's leaders, headed by Prof. Dr. Amr Nadim, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Heba Helmy, Head of the Chest Diseases Department and the Internship Training Officer, interns, and many of the assistant staff and students. Following the symposium, an awareness campaign was held on the same topic under the slogan “Your health and drug safety begins with you. Be alert.” It was carried out by Prof. Dr. Ezzat El-Gharib, the College’s Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, a group of interns, and students from the MSG team affiliated with the Community Service Committee. It was located in the hospital’s outpatient clinics and targeted patients visiting the clinics. Brochures were distributed with comprehensive information on the awareness topic, prepared by the hospital’s Drug Information Center.
