Performing the first cerebral catheterization case

The Department of Neurology and Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine, October 6 University, successfully performed the first cerebral catheterization procedure in the hospital. This is a significant step toward developing cerebrovascular disease treatment services and providing advanced medical care that meets the latest international standards.

This achievement was accomplished under the leadership of Professor Ahmed El-Bassiouny, Professor of Neurology and Cerebral Catheterization at Ain Shams University, who has extensive experience and pioneering contributions in this field and provided significant scientific and technical support to the medical team.

The following also participated in the case study:
• Dr. Mohamed Rizk Khader, Unit Director and Lecturer of Neurology at the Faculty of Medicine, October 6 University
• Dr. Donia Hani, Unit Coordinator and Resident Physician at October 6 University Hospital
• Dr. Fatima Badawi, Resident Physician at October 6 University Hospital
• Dr. Abdel Wahab Rizk, Resident Physician at October 6 University Hospital

This event marks the launch of the hospital's Cerebral Catheterization Unit, which aims to provide advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services for cases of stroke and cerebral hemorrhage, keeping pace with the rapid development of interventional neurology.
