Dr. Carol Rippenburg
On Thursday November 29, Dr. Carol Rippenburg visited the Faculty of Education, October 6 University. Dr. Carol J. Riphenburg is a Fulbright Professor of Political Science at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL. She has published various articles on ethnicity, economics, the constitution, and role of women in Afghanistan in addition to a book and articles on Oman, Yemen, and Zimbabwe. She will be staying in Egypt until mid December 2012. During her visit, she has lectured on American Values to two groups of students who listened attentively and asked questions afterward. The visit included showing Dr. Rippenburg around campus and also visiting with Prof. Dr. Khair El- Din Abdel-Latif, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees for International Strategies and Cultural Relations. They discussed possible opportunities for cooperation with the College of Du Page. Further discussion will be coordinated by Dr. Sally Hanna. She was presented with the university Medal of Honor in recognition for her effort. She commented on her fascination with professors she met, students she talked to and the beautiful campus that she could not stop photographing for more than an hour!! The visit was organized and coordinated by Dr. Sally Michael Hanna, Associate Dean and Chair of the English Department.
