Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development; under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Faten Hassan Abdel-Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Therapy and Chair of the Organizing Committee of the celebration in accordance with the University’s Community Service Sector plan; and with coordination by Prof. Dr. Tamer Abu Al-Yazid, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Physical Therapy for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Samir Othman, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development;
the Faculty of Physical Therapy, in cooperation with the Faculty of Pharmacy and Al-Basma Association, organized a celebration for the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Monday, December 1, 2025.
The day included a series of lectures and speeches aimed at raising the morale of persons with disabilities and helping them develop alternative pathways and plans to benefit from their abilities and improve quality of life across all areas for individuals with different types of disabilities.
The celebration hosted Eng. Alaa El-Nady, a human development trainer for persons with disabilities and founder of Al-Hassan Foundation, which announced a range of free services for persons with physical disabilities. It also hosted Eng. Mohamed Abdel-Wahab, an international software trainer, who delivered a lecture for persons with disabilities.
In addition, the event included a lecture on proper nutrition for persons with disabilities, and an awareness lecture for athletes with disabilities presented by Dr. Asmaa Yousry from the Faculty of Physical Therapy, October 6 University. The event also introduced the services provided by the outpatient clinics of the Faculty of Physical Therapy for persons with disabilities through a lecture delivered by Dr. Samar Salem, Lecturer at the Faculty of Physical Therapy.
