October 6 University plays an important role in serving the community, and this role is not limited to students only; rather, it extends to include the elderly, who are in need of care, support, and the benefit of the expertise of educational institutions. This was carried out under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development; under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Faten Hassan Abdel-Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Therapy; and with coordination by Prof. Dr. Tamer Abu Al-Yazid, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development.
On December 9, the Faculty of Physical Therapy conducted a medical and therapeutic visit to Malak Al-Rahma Elderly Care Home in Sheikh Zayed, where all residents were examined, evaluated, and provided with therapeutic sessions and awareness programs aimed at improving their motor functions.
The assessment included cases of osteoarthritis, post-fracture rehabilitation, muscle weakness, and Parkinson’s disease.
