October 6 University Secures Erasmus+ Funding for an International Project to Strengthen Higher Education in Public Health and Climate Change Adaptation

October 6 University has announced, under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed Zaki Badr, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Prof. Mamdouh Mostafa Ghorab, President of the University, that it has been awarded funding through the Erasmus+ Programme to implement an international project entitled "Capacity Building in Higher Education to Develop Public Health Curricula for Climate Change Adaptation in the Southern Mediterranean."

The project will be implemented by October 6 University in partnership with universities from Greece (the project coordinator), Spain, two universities in Jordan, and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in Egypt. The project aims to develop modern academic programs and curricula that prepare qualified professionals capable of addressing the public health challenges resulting from climate change, including heat waves, air pollution, and diseases associated with environmental changes. This will be achieved through curriculum modernization, faculty development, and the promotion of international academic cooperation.

This achievement reflects October 6 University's distinguished standing and its ability to establish international partnerships that contribute to the advancement of higher education and community service in accordance with international standards.

The Erasmus+ Programme is one of the European Union's flagship initiatives supporting education and training. It funds international projects designed to enhance higher education, strengthen cooperation among universities, facilitate the exchange of expertise, and build institutional capacity to address global challenges.

This accomplishment further reinforces October 6 University's excellence in the field of sustainability. The University has achieved prominent positions in international sustainability rankings, where climate action and mitigating the impacts of climate change constitute key strategic priorities.
