A seminar at the 6th of October Media on the role of media in facing environmental challenges.
The Faculty of Mass Communication held a seminar today entitled "The Role of Media in Facing Environmental Challenges", in which Dr. Mahmoud Bakr, Managing Editor of Al-Ahram Weekly and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Environment and Development Writers Association, and a member of the Geography and Environment Committee of the Supreme Council of Culture, lectured. He was received and welcomed by Prof. Dr. Yasser Dakroury, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research.
The seminar was sponsored by Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Mustafa Ghorab, President of 6th of October University, and Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and supervised by Prof. Dr. Dina Farouk Abu Zeid, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication and Communication Arts at the University, coordinated by Prof. Dr. Rala Mansour, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Ms. Marina Nabil, Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Public Relations and Advertising.
Dr. Mahmoud Bakr talked about the challenges facing environmental media, the obstacles facing environmental journalism, and the problems of the media with the phenomenon of climate change. The students interacted with him in the discussion and inquiries in the presence of faculty members and assistants at the college. Prof. Dr. Dina Farouk Abu Zeid presented him with the college shield in appreciation and welcome.
