The 29th Annual Conference of AUSACE Association, Faculty of Media, 6th of October University, kicks off under the title “Innovation and Creativity in Communication in the Age of Technological Progress”
Today, Sunday, October 26, 2025, the activities of the 29th Annual Conference of the American AUSACE Association were launched at the Faculty of Media and Communication Arts, 6th of October University, under the title “Innovation and Creativity in Communication in the Age of Technological Progress”, in the presence of Professor Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, former Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, Minister Dr. Doria Sharaf El-Din, former Minister of Information, and Minister Ambassador Soha Gendy, former Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Professor Dr. Mamdouh Mustafa Ghorab, President of the University, Professor Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Professor Dr. Dina Farouk Abu Zeid, Dean of the Faculty of Media at 6th of October University, Professor Dr. Sahar Khamis, President of AUSACE Association and Professor at Maryland College Park University in the United States of America, with the participation of a group of prominent academic and media figures in Egypt and the Arab world.
The conference is held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Zaki Badr, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of 6th of October University, Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Mustafa Ghorab, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Iman Al-Azizi, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Yasser Dakroury, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Dina Farouk Abu Zeid, Dean of the Faculty of Media and Communication Arts.
The ministers were honored by presenting them with the conference shield.
Professor Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama gave his speech stressing that “the world of communication is witnessing an unprecedented revolution, and that creativity is no longer an option but has become a necessity imposed by the nature of the era”, and called for empowering youth and strengthening the digital economy in the Arab world.Minister Dr. Doria Sharaf El-Din spoke about the importance of developing academic and professional media to keep pace with global technological transformation, noting that “creativity and innovation are what distinguish developed nations”.
Minister Ambassador Soha Gendy explained in her speech that “Egyptian soft power is the lifeline for a distinguished future”, stressing that innovation is a collective responsibility, and that young people are the leaders of the future in the fields of digital media and technological creativity.
Professor Dr. Mamdouh Mustafa Ghorab delivered a speech in which he welcomed the conference guests, pointing out that artificial intelligence represents a tool for development and production and not a substitute for the human mind, stressing that Egypt is moving confidently towards building a digital educational and media environment capable of innovation and creativity.
Professor Dr. Hisham Tamraz also spoke about the importance of scientific research in developing media studies, warning against the expansion of the scope of undocumented citizen media, and calling for accuracy and credibility in order to preserve society's awareness and safety.
Professor Dr. Dina Farouk Abu Zeid, Dean of the Faculty of Media and Communication Arts –, delivered her speech, stressing that the conference comes within the framework of the university's vision towards supporting media creativity and enhancing scientific research in light of the digital transformation, noting that creativity is no longer a luxury but rather a necessity to keep pace with the tremendous technological development.
The speeches were concluded by Prof. Dr. Sahar Khamis –President of AUSACE Association and Professor at Maryland College Park –, who praised the fruitful coences and enhance scientific creativity.operation between the Association and 6th of October University, stressing that choosing the title of this year's conference comes in response to the new challenges imposed by artificial intelligence on media and communication, and calling for activating the partnership between Arab and American universities to exchange experi Participants stressed that the conference represents an international scientific and media platform to enhance dialogue on the future of communication and media in the era of artificial intelligence, and to exchange academic and professional experiences between Arab and foreign universities, in a way that supports development and digital transformation efforts in the Arab region.
At the end of the session, Professor Dr. Dina Farouk Abu Zeid expressed her pride in 6th of October University hosting this international event, stressing that the conference opens new horizons for researchers and students to present innovative projects that serve the future of Arab media and support the building of a new generation of creative media professionals
