Artist Ahmed Shaker Abdel Latif, hosted by the Faculty of Media at 6th of October University: A symposium on the role of art in building awareness.

The Faculty of Media and Communication Arts at 6th of October University organized a symposium entitled "The Role of Art in Building Awareness", under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mamdouh Mustafa Ghorab, President of the University, and Professor Dr. Iman Al-Azizi, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and under the supervision and attendance of A.Dr. Dina Farouk Abu Zeid, Dean of the College, lectured by artist Ahmed Shaker Abdel Latif, actor, director and former director of the Egyptian National Theater.
The symposium addressed a number of basic topics in media and acting. Artist Ahmed Shaker began his talk with the importance of cinema as a soft power and its prominent role in building and improving the image of the state, stressing that the artistic work is the true mirror that reflects the culture and values of society.
He touched on the most important roles he played that affected his career, noting that embodying national and historical figures represents a double responsibility to establish a role model. He also talked about the difficulties of the profession and his artistic beginnings, and gave many tips and recommendations to media students wishing to pursue acting, stressing the need for the artist or media person to be aware, educated, and have the ability to make positive criticisms before starting any artistic work.
He also reviewed his professional career and provided students with a set of skills and experiences that will benefit them in the fields of directing, media and acting, stressing the importance of refining directing and acting skills together to ensure an integrated artistic work.
At the end of the meeting, Professor Dr. Dina Farouk Abu Zeid presented the college shield to the artist Ahmed Shaker Abdel Latif in appreciation of him.
