Participation of the Faculty of Media in the visit of 6th of October University to the National Council for Human Rights.
Under the patronage of A.Dr. Mamdouh Mustafa Ghorab, President of the University, under the patronage and presence of A.Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, October 6 University organized a visit to the headquarters of the National Council for Human Rights with the aim of learning about the Council's competencies and its various activities in the field of human rights. Ambassador Mahmoud Karem, Chairman of the Council, and Dr. Ismail Abdel Rahman, Council Member, received Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and a number of deans of colleges, deputies for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and students.
The meeting began with a speech by Ambassador Mahmoud Karem, who spoke about the Council's role in promoting and protecting human rights in Egypt, pointing out the importance of spreading the culture of human rights among young people, especially university students, within the framework of supporting national and international efforts in this field.
The second session was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Ismail Abdel Rahman, during which an open discussion was held with the students about “the Universal Declaration of Human Rights”. Dr. Ismail explained the articles of the Declaration and the necessity of implementing them to guarantee the basic rights of individuals in various countries of the world, which sparked great interaction among students.
In the third session, Mr. Bakhit Al-Wahi, a researcher at the National Council for Human Rights, gave a practical presentation on the materials of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, where the concepts of the Declaration were applied through interactive activities in which students participated.
The meeting concluded with the fourth session presented by Ms. Mai Hamdi, Head of the Cultural Rights Committee at the National Council for Human Rights, where she spoke about the “Convention on the Rights of the Child”, and emphasized the role of the Convention in protecting the rights of children, with an explanation of the articles related to their protection, education and care in various parts of the world.
This visit comes within the framework of the protocol concluded between the National Council for Human Rights and 6th of October University, which aims to enhance human rights awareness among students by organizing interactive meetings and workshops on various human rights issues.
Hana Ahmed Abu Saada, a third-year student in the Radio and Television Department, from the Faculty of Media and Communication Arts, participated in the visit
