A seminar in the 6th of October Media on confronting rumors in the digital space.
Under the patronage of A.Dr. Mamdouh Mustafa Ghorab, President of 6th of October University, and Mr.Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Mr.Dr. Dina Farouk Abu Zeid, Dean of the Faculty of Media and Communication Arts, organized today a symposium entitled Confronting Rumors in the Digital Space at the Faculty of Media and Communication Arts at 6th of October University. Dr. Rania Lashin, member of the National Program for Confronting Rumors at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, lectured in it, in the presence of a number of faculty members and students.
The symposium addressed educating young people about the need to be accurate when receiving any news, and not to transmit any news except after verifying the actual source, stressing the role of the state and the Ministry of Youth in launching initiatives to confront rumors such as: "Conflict with us." The symposium also referred to the negative uses of artificial intelligence in the field of spreading rumors on various platforms.
At the end of the symposium, Dr. Rania Lashin was honored and handed over to her by A.Dr. Dina Farouk Abu Zeid College Shield.
The symposium comes within the framework of the college's keenness to play an educational and awareness role in the college's cultural season.
