 Dr. Shahira Khalil, Editor-in-Chief of Samir Magazine, at a symposium at the Faculty of Media, 6th of October University.

 
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Mustafa Ghorab, President of 6th of October University, and Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and under the supervision and attendance of Prof. Dr. Dina Farouk Abu Zeid, Dean of the Faculty of Media and Communication Arts, the Faculty organized today a symposium entitled "The History of Children's Journalism" "Samir Magazine as a Model" on the occasion of the magazine's 70th anniversary Dr. Shahira Khalil, Editor-in-Chief of Samir Magazine and Director of the Journalistic Heritage Center at Dar Al Hilal, lectured there, in the presence of a number of faculty members and students.
The symposium addressed the importance of children's journalism and its important role in shaping children's awareness at an early age. Dr. Shahira also reviewed the history of children's magazines in Egypt, their success factors, their journalistic and directing arts, their most important pioneers, and the challenges they face in light of the widespread use of social networking sites and electronic platforms, in addition to addressing the importance of the role of women in society, especially in Egypt, due to their pioneering experience in children's journalism in the Arab world This is within the framework of celebrating International Women's Day. 
 
At the end of the symposium, A.Dr. Dina Farouk Abu Zeid honored Dr. Shahira and presented her with the college shield in appreciation of her important role and long career in the field of children's journalism in Egypt and the Arab world.
 
The symposium comes within the framework of the college's keenness to play an educational and awareness role in the college's cultural season. The symposium was organized by Dr. Mohamed Salah, Mr. Salma Ashraf, and Mr. Iman Al-Mohammadi.
