A field visit by media students at 6th of October University to the newspaper and website “Al-Usbu'”.

 

Today, the Faculty of Media and Communication Arts at 6th of October University organized a field visit for its students to the headquarters of the newspaper and website “Al-Usbu'” and a meeting with the great journalist, Mr. Mustafa Bakri, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Usbu' and a member of the House of Representatives, in the presence of Mr.Dr. Dina Farouk Abu Zeid, Dean of the College and Mr.M.Dr. Shaima Abu Mandour, Head of the Journalism Department, with the participation of students from the Journalism, Radio and Television, Public Relations and Advertising Departments.

 

The meeting witnessed an open dialogue between the students and Professor Mustafa Bakri, where he conveyed his professional and media experiences, speaking about the most important challenges facing journalistic work in light of digital developments, stressing the importance of commitment to professionalism and credibility, and developing the skills of journalists and media professionals to keep pace with the rapid changes in the field. The students were briefed on the work mechanisms within the press institution and the nature of work within newsrooms.

The visit comes within the college's plan aimed at linking students with major media institutions, and providing them with the opportunity to interact with experts and practitioners, which contributes to developing their practical skills, and preparing media cadres capable of competing in the labor market, based on the importance of integration between theoretical study and practical training in preparing media professionals who possess knowledge and skill.
