The Minister of Youth and Sports launches the start badge of the 6th of October University cycling marathon in the New Administrative Capital

Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, launched this morning the start badge of the cycling marathon organized by October 6 University in the government district in the New Administrative Capital, under the slogan "Promoting Sports for a Better Life", with the wide participation of university students and a number of faculty members, which is implemented by the university in cooperation with the Central Administration for Sports Development (General Administration of Student Activity).

The launch of the marathon was attended by Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, President of October 6 University, Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President of October 6 University for Community and Environmental Affairs, Dr. Amr Haddad, Head of the Central Administration for Sports Development, and Dr. Ahmed Hassan, Director General of the General Administration of Student Activity.

The Minister of Youth and Sports stressed that organizing such sports events comes within the framework of supporting the state's efforts to spread the culture of practicing sports and making it a way of life among young people, because of its positive impact on physical and mental health, pointing to the importance of sports in promoting physical fitness and public health, in addition to its role in instilling the values of fair competition and discipline.

The Minister of Youth added that today's cycling marathon comes as an affirmation of the state's support for sports activities, and its interest in building a healthy and strong generation that contributes to achieving comprehensive development, pointing out that the New Administrative Capital has become a symbol of development, and today we add to this development a sports scene that expresses the vitality and ambition of Egypt's youth.

Dr. Ashraf Sobhi thanked October 6 University for its outstanding initiative, and I call on all universities and institutions to adopt sports as an essential part of their student activities.
