Within the framework of the protocol signed between Al-Ahram Foundation, represented by the Journal of International Politics, and the 6th of October University, represented by the Faculty of Economics and Administration, Al-Ahram Foundation hosted on December 8, 2025, the first cultural forum of the Library Committee of the Graduate Studies Sector at the Faculty of Economics and Administration, entitled: "The Role of the Media and the Renewal of Religious Discourse in Building Awareness", with the participation of a number of prominent religious, media and executive figures in Egypt.
The meeting was an important intellectual space to deepen mutual understanding between state institutions, universities, and media institutions on the issues on which public culture, collective consciousness, and contemporary religious discourse are formed.
Three prominent actors in the media and religious fields participated in the symposium:
- His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Amr Al-Wardani, Secretary of the Fatwa at the Egyptian Dar al-Iftaa and Chairman of the Shari'a Supervisory Committee at the Egyptian Stock Exchange, one of the most prominent voices calling for the renewal of the balanced religious discourse.
Journalist Radwa Abou El-Fadl - Presenter of the Tafseer Program at Cairo News Channel - Has professional experience in content analysis and dismantling media messages
Eng. Hossam Saleh - Chief Business Officer at United Media Services Company and an expert in media management and the uses of artificial intelligence - one of the makers of institutional transformation in the Egyptian media in recent years
The meeting was moderated by Mr. Ahmed Naji Qamha, Editor-in-Chief of the International Politics and Democracy Magazines, who played a prominent role in the preparation, organization and availability of this rich dialogue space, and Dr. Heba Al-Husseini, a lecturer in political science and chairman of the library committee
In addition to media and press coverage on Al-Youm Al-Saba, Al-Ahram Gate, and others, and television on Maspero, Al-Masrya Al-Awwal and CBC channels.
The Foundation also organized a special tour for the faculty delegation inside its corridors, during which they reviewed: the history of the institution and its archives, explained the mechanism of work inside the editorial rooms, visited the Center for Political and Strategic Studies, and learned about the stages of producing journalistic content, and the tour was one of the most important stations of the visit, because of the knowledge and cultural values it carried for students.
The objectives of the cultural forum were:
1- Enhancing students' awareness of media issues and religious discourse.
2- Linking academic knowledge with practical experience from within national institutions.
3- Providing students with the opportunity to interact directly with intellectual figures.
4- Building bridges of cooperation between the college, Al-Ahram Foundation and the Journal of International Politics.
5. Developing students' skills in dialogue and analysis and refining their experiences.
The "First Cultural Forum" is an important step in the Library Committee's path towards creating a lively and effective cultural activity that connects students with national institutions.
