The Department of Political Science organized a field visit to the Supreme Constitutional Court, under the supervision and coordination of Assoc. Col. Dr. Wafa Lotfy – Head of the Department, on Saturday, April 4, 2026, which is one of the most important judicial institutions in Egypt, due to its pivotal role in protecting the constitution and preserving the rule of law.
The visit began with the presence of an introductory seminar in the Grand Celebration Hall, delivered by Counselor Dr. Tarek Abdel Qader, President of the Supreme Constitutional Court's Board of Commissioners, where he discussed in detail the Court's competencies and activities, and its role in monitoring the constitutionality of laws and legislations to ensure their compatibility with the provisions of the Constitution, as well as their contribution to the consecration and protection of constitutional rights and freedoms. At the end of the seminar, the discussion was opened to respond to the students' inquiries.
This was followed by a field tour inside the court's corridors, during which the students learned about the nature of judicial work and litigation mechanisms, which allowed them to have a deeper understanding of the role of the court in the Egyptian legal system.
At the end of the visit, a delegation of faculty members and students visited the office of Counselor Boulos Fahmy Iskandar, where the students expressed their happiness with this rich experience that contributed to enhancing their legal knowledge, and expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation to the administration of the Supreme Constitutional Court for the warm reception and hospitality.
