Organized by the Faculty of Economics and Management, and under the supervision and coordination of the Conference Rapporteur, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wafaa Lotfy – Acting Head of the Political Science Department, the faculty held its Third Scientific Conference titled: "Sustainable Development and Enhancing Egyptian Security"

The conference was honored by the presence of the Guest of Honor, Major General Dr. Samir Farag, Strategic Expert, former Governor of Luxor, and former Director of the Morale Affairs Department of the Armed Forces. His distinguished participation enriched the event with profound strategic insights and high-level national expertise.

Over two days (April 29–30, 2026), the conference featured a rich and integrated scientific program, including specialized sessions covering economic, political, administrative, and accounting tracks. These sessions saw the participation of a select group of professors and researchers from various universities and research centers.

The program also featured a high-level panel discussion titled: "Sustainable Development and Egyptian National Security: Reality and Future Horizons." The sessions reflected the depth of scientific discourse and the diversity of perspectives, contributing to the support of sustainable development issues and linking them to Egyptian national security through a comprehensive strategic lens.

In conclusion, a workshop titled "Sustainable Development and Egyptian National Security: An Applied Vision" was held to embody one of the conference's core pillars. It showcased an inspiring success story of a faculty alumnus who presented a distinguished real-world professional experience. This highlighted the importance of aligning sustainable development with national security requirements and leveraging such role models to empower students and prepare them for the labor market. This was followed by a productive student workshop that addressed real-world challenges and proposed innovative practical solutions, reflecting the conference’s spirit of integrating academic and practical aspects to serve community issues
