Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, President of the University, Prof. Yasser El-Dakroury, Vice President for Graduate Studies, Prof. Sabah El-Sharkawy, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, and Dr. Sabah El-Sharkawy, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing. The Department of Mental Health Nursing, in cooperation with the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Drug Abuse, organized the department's second annual scientific conference. The conference was titled "The Scourge of the Age: Addiction: Prevention and Treatment." The conference chair was Prof. Thuria Ramadan, Head of the Department, and the Faculty's Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development. The conference rapporteur was Dr. Adlia Tawfik Ahmed. A number of scientific papers were presented by Dr. Amr Othman, Director of the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Drug Abuse, titled "Efforts to Reduce Demand for Drugs in Egypt and Arab Countries." Dr. Ibrahim Askar, Director of Preventive Programs at the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Drug Abuse, titled "The Roles of Educational Institutions in Raising Awareness of the Problem of Drug Abuse and Drug Addiction." Dr. Hossam El-Beheiry, Professor of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, titled "The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Combating Addiction." Dr. Wafaa Othman, Professor of Mental Health Nursing at Helwan University, titled "Integrating Nursing Practices into Drug-Based Strategies." "Evidence for Addiction Prevention"

The conference produced a set of recommendations that society needs to reduce the demand for drugs.
