 Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Yasser El-Dakroury, Vice President for Graduate Studies, and Prof. Dr. Sabah El-Sharkawy, Dean of the Faculty, the Departments of Maternal and Neonatal Nursing and Pediatric Nursing organized the Third Scientific Conference entitled “Promoting Maternal and Child Health in Light of the Golden Thousand Days Initiative for Family Development,” on Monday, April 27, 2026. The conference was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ragaa Ali, Professor of Maternal and Neonatal Nursing, Prof. Dr. Amani Sami Badawi, Head of the Department of Maternal and Neonatal Nursing, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Iman Abdel-Fattah, Head of the Department of Pediatric Nursing. Prof. Dr. Nahed Saeed El-Naggar, Professor of Nursing at Ain Shams University, presented a lecture entitled “Impact of Golden Hours Practice on Preterm Outcome,” and Dr. Nevin Hassan, Clinical Nutrition Specialist at Ain Shams University, presented a lecture entitled “The Sustainable Health Triangle: Preconception, Lactation, and Complementary Feeding.” The second scientific session addressed the latest trends in maternal and child nursing, the application of innovations and modern technologies in healthcare, and the promotion of evidence-based practice (EBNP). Dr. Mustafa Mahmoud Abbas, a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University (USAID Certified Trainer), presented a lecture entitled “1000 Days, One Chance: Are We Doing It Right?” Ms. Iman Abdo and Ms. Menna Allah Ashraf, teaching assistants in the Department of Pediatric Nursing at 6th of October University, also participated. The conference was attended by a number of faculty members from nursing colleges, as well as several nursing students. The conference was chaired by Dr. Teresa Khalifa and Dr. Amira Sobhi, and coordinated by Dr. Hagar Abdel Hamid and Dr. Safa Ramadan.
