Workshops in the Field of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance

 Two workshops have been successfully completed in the field of “1D and 2D Nuclear Magnetic Resonance” under the auspices of the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy October 6 University Prof. Dr. / Mahmoud Ahmed Hassan Koheil. The workshops were held in the Drug Design and Molecular Modeling unit (CADD) at Moustafa Kamel building in the University.

The first workshop was organized from the 16th till the 17th of November 2019 and the other from the 23rd till the 24th of the same month. The two workshops entitled:

First “1DNMR (FROM CHART TO STRUCTURE) MNOVA”

Second "2D NMR (FROM CHART TO STRUCTURE) MNOVA"

The workshops program included lectures in the 1D & 2D NMR theories and the advanced techniques which including:

 (APT, DEPT, COSY, TOCSY, Inadequate, NOESY, ROESY, HMQC, HSQC and HMBC)

The program is also including use of “Mestra Nova” software to identify the molecular structure of the synthetic and natural drugs and related compounds.

The Pharmaceutical Chemistry family headed by Prof. Dr. / Nadia Mohamed Ahmed Mahfouz, the head of the Chemistry Department and the executive director of the drug design unit, whole heartedly thanks the lecturer and trainer Dr. / Ahmed Mohamed Metwally, lecturer of the Pharmacognosy, Al-Azhar University, Cairo, because of his useful information and eminent performance in the workshop.

The Chemistry department is also very grateful and thankful for the Associate Professor / Dr. Samir Osman,   the Vice Dean of the Environmental Affairs and Community Service, for his effective contribution in supporting the two workshops with participants. We also thank Dr. / Enas Taha Abdel-Hamid, lecturer of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and the associate lecturer Esraa Zakaria.

Staff members and their assistants of  October 6 University, Helwan University, MSA University and the National Research Center, participated in the two workshops, in addition to some students of October 6 University and they all praised Dr. / Ahmed Mohamed Metwally for his outstanding performance and for his useful and good information.

At the end of the workshops, Prof. Dr. /Nabawia Abdelaziz, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. /Mohamed Refaat El-Ghobashy, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, distributed certificates of completion of the two workshops among the participants and handed the organization committee members certificates of honor and appreciation for their successful role in the workshops. Some memorial photos for all attendees were also taken.
