The Dean and a group of Faculty of Medicine , October 6 University staff, participated in the workshop concerning the reforming of medical education in Egypt that was arranged by the supreme council of Universities in collaboration with the British council and representatives of British Faculties of Medicine.
The workshop was held on Monday and Tuesday 27th and 28th of February at the LRC building of Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University and was attended by staff from different Egyptian Universities. The workshop included lectures demonstrating the five years integrated modular medical education system applied in the British Universities followed by 2 years foundation and interactive discussion about curriculum reforming and exam design. The final recommendation by Prof. Ashraf Hatem was to replace the subject based discipline by the integrated modules after fulfilling the requirements regarding the staff and the University hospital facilities.
