 Biotechnology Unit, Faculty of Pharmacy, October 6 University announces one of its special training programs in Clinical Diagnosis under title of

"Laboratory Diagnosis Training Course"

This Program is including two separate modules,
**The first entitled
"Microbial and Biochemical Diagnosis"

The second entitles
"Molecular Diagnosis"

First Module: "Microbial and Biochemical Diagnosis"

**Lab management and Quality Control

**Urine analysis
• Sample type and preservation (early morning, midstream, random, catheter)

• Physical characteristics (odor, color, appearance, PH, specificity)

• Chemical analysis using manual protocols (protein; heat coagulation, Glucose; Benedict, ketone; Rothera`s) and urine strips

• Microscopic examination: cells; pus cells, RBCs, epithelial, crystals, casts,

• Urine culture (sensitivity test); microbiology

-Blood structure (plasma and formed elements; WBCs, RBCs and platelets)
-Types of WBCs
-Structure, types and function of Hemoglobin
-Difference between plasma and serum
-Types of anticoagulants (EDTA, Heparin, Na-F, Ca-Oxalate)
Blood grouping (A, B, D)
-Blood Count (Haemocytometer)

* Different chemistries of Real-Time PCR


* mRNA synthesis and quantification

* Performing Real-Time PCR reaction
