Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Aqbi, Assistant Minister of Solidarity and General Coordinator of Solidarity Units at Egyptian Universities, Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Iman El-Azizi, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Amr Nadeem, Dean of the College, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ezzat El-Gharib, Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, the Human Rights Committee, in cooperation with the Social Solidarity Unit at the University, organized a symposium entitled “The Safe Women’s Unit and Its Role in Combating Violence against Women”, in which Prof. Dr. Iman El-Tahlawi, Head of the Public Health Department and Director of the Safe Women Unit, targeted faculty members and assistants. The seminar was attended by college deans, Prof. Dr. Tharya Ramadan, Vice Dean of the College of Nursing for Community Service Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hanaa El-Qazzaz, Vice Dean of the College of Applied Arts for Community Service Affairs and Coordinator of the Community Service Sector for the Solidarity Unit, faculty members from the college, students from the Faculties of Medicine and Computer Science, and Ms. Moamen Khaled, Coordinator of the Solidarity Unit at the University. Prof. Dr. Iman El-Tahlawi gave an interesting presentation about the Safe Women Unit and its achievements. The presentation also included an awareness film about the types of violence and ways to deal with it. Prof. Dr. Amr Nadeem, Dean of the College, commented on the presentation and opened the floor for discussion with the attendees.
