On Monday 11th of February 2019, during the first week of the second term, OSSS carried out "Mental Health Workshop" which was held at O6U Hospital. The number of attendees was 30 OSSS members and the activity was conducted by: Esraa Abdelaziz; Local Coordinator and International Public Health Leader on Mental Health. The importance of the problem is that one in four people in the world will be affected by mental or neurological disorders at some point in their lives but the main problem is not about the disease itself, it's about the stigma that face people with mental illness. Therefore, OSSS have conducted a workshop about mental health, its relation with public health, the difference between psychological problems and disorders, and factors affecting mental health. "Depression, Anxiety and OCD" were the main topics. Finally, the stigma on mental illness and how to play an active role in eliminating it were discussed. It was all through interactive activities, with providing statistics of the topic.
