Participation of the Faculty of Applied Arts – Coordinated by the Comprehensive Development Convoys Committee
As part of October 6 University role in serving the community and developing the environment, and in accordance with the approved plan of the Community Service Sector, the Comprehensive Development Convoys Committee organized a development convoy to Al-Minya Village – Saf Center – Giza Governorate on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
The convoy was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hesham Temraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Mona Abu Tabl, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts. It was supervised, monitored, and implemented by the Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and also Head of the Interior Design & Furniture Program and the Advertising Program.
The Faculty of Applied Arts participated in the convoy, represented by the Vice Dean for Community Service, along with distinguished contributions from Dr. Asmaa Abdel Moneim, Lecturer in the Advertising Program, Dr. Manal Youssef, Lecturer in the Interior Design & Furniture Program, and two female students from the Advertising Program.
The convoy focused on medical examinations, treatment, and free distribution of medicines to our most needy citizens. It also supported children through education, training, and nutrition. The activities contributed to achieving several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), most notably:
  • Good Health and Well-being (Goal 3)
  • Quality Education (Goal 4)
  • Zero Hunger (Goal 2)
  • Partnerships for the Goals (Goal 17)
This was accomplished through collaboration with university faculties and pharmaceutical companies to provide free medication.
The convoy embodied a practical model of integration between health, nutrition, education, and awareness in serving the local community, while linking local efforts to the global framework of sustainable development.
