The Department of Interior Design and Furniture organized its Second Annual Scientific Conference on Monday, April 27, 2026, under the title: "The Role of Interior Design in Achieving Environmental and Societal Sustainability Goals."

 The conference witnessed a distinguished attendance of elite academics, specialists, and entrepreneurs in the design field, where experiences were exchanged and the latest trends in achieving sustainability through interior design were discussed across four main sessions. Held on the sidelines of the conference was an outstanding exhibition showcasing the works and products of the department's students, reflecting an exceptional level of creativity and innovative ideas that keep pace with labor market requirements, under the theme: "Sustainable Design Visions... The Sustainable Solution for a Better Future." A total of 50 applied products were featured in the exhibition.

Additionally, an accompanying workshop was held during the conference, featuring the fabrication of two furniture pieces designed by Assistant Lecturer Hagar Mahmoud, utilizing eco-friendly materials (palm fronds).
