Faculty of Education at October 6 University Opens Three Literacy Classes
Within the framework of the “University Without Illiteracy” initiative, and as a continuation of its strong and effective efforts in activating the university’s role in community service and environmental development, the Faculty of Education at October 6 University has inaugurated three literacy classes. This initiative is carried out in cooperation with the National Authority for Adult Education and Literacy, with the aim of eradicating illiteracy among (29) male and female workers at October 6 University.
This comes under the generous patronage of Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, President of the University; Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Dr. Rokaya Shalaby, Dean of the Faculty of Education, stemming from the university administration’s belief in its societal role and responsibility to support the state’s plans to eliminate illiteracy and build human capacity.
It is worth noting that the teaching staff for these classes includes a number of teaching assistants from the Department of Arabic Language and Islamic Studies at the Faculty of Education, namely:
Teaching Assistant Mahmoud Ahmed Abdel Latif
Teaching Assistant Shaimaa Ali Ahmed
Teaching Assistant Youssef Ahmed El-Ghaiti
They undertake the task of educating the learners and academically qualifying them in a way that contributes to improving their job performance and raising their cultural awareness.
The Faculty of Education affirms its continued support for such purposeful community initiatives, in a manner that enhances the university’s mission in community service and environmental development and contributes to achieving sustainable development.
