 The Faculty of Languages and Translation held its first International Conference entitled "Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature, Language and Translation". Prof. Ahmed Attia Seida, President of October 6 University, Prof. Ali Mohammed Talaat, Vice Presidentb Vice President for Educational and Students Affairs, and Prof. Mona El Halawany, Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation attended the opening session of the conference. The distinguished Professor of English Language and Literature, Mohammed Mohamed Enany, Cairo University, was the keynote speaker on the first day as he discussed his paper entitled "Harold Pinter's Old Times: a Heideggerian Reading". Prof. Moustafa Ryad, Professor of English Literature, Ain Shams University was the keynote speaker on the second day and he presented his paper entitled: Translation Skills in the Classroom: A Synthesis of Linguistic and Cultural Disciplines." The conference sessions were held in a variety of Languages (English, German, French, Spanish, Arabic, and Oriental Languages). By the end of the conference, professors recited some of their poems in the poetry recital session. In the Closing Session, Prof. Mona El Halawany honored the organizing committee as well as the attending members of staff from the Faculty of Languages and Translation.
