Soilless Agriculture: A New Vision for Egypt Towards a More Sustainable Future
In line with October 6 University's commitment to reducing carbon emissions and measuring its carbon footprint, Professor Dr. Samir Othman, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development, participated in a specialized training course on Soilless Agriculture held at the Central Laboratory for Agricultural Climate.
The course took place over three days, from Tuesday, February 18 to Thursday, February 20, and included both theoretical and practical components. It covered several modern techniques of soilless cultivation, including hydroponics, aeroponics, and the use of alternative growth media such as peat moss and perlite.
This participation reflects the university's active role in aligning with global trends towards sustainable agriculture and adopting environmentally smart practices that conserve resources and minimize environmental impact. It also supports Egypt’s forward-looking vision for sustainable development and food security.
