A glimpse of the college's participation in a seminar on "Human Rights and Mental Health" under the title "Human Rights and Mental Health," under the patronage of Prof. Jamal Sami, the university president, and Prof. Hisham Tamraz, the vice president of the university for community service and environmental development affairs. The seminar was attended by Prof. Magdy Radi, the university's advisor for external relations, as well as the deans and vice deans of the various colleges at the university, on Tuesday, 5th of March, 2024.
The seminar hosted Her Excellency Ambassador Dr. Moshira Khattab, the head of the National Council for Human Rights, and Her Excellency Ambassador Dr. Nabila Makram, the former Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs and the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Fahim Foundation for Psychological Support. The discussion focused on various aspects of cooperation between the university and the Fahim Foundation for Psychological Support in serving the internal and external community of the university. Several points were addressed, including introducing the Fahim Foundation for Psychological Support, its goals, tasks, and activities, as well as proposing a cooperation agreement between the university and the foundation.
Her Excellency Ambassador discussed the vital role of the foundation in training psychological specialists and family members with individuals suffering from mental illness, how to deal with them, how to adapt to their behaviors, and how to take care of themselves so they can endure and continue their journey. Her Excellency Ambassador Dr. Moshira Khattab also engaged in a dialogue with university students about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and followed up on what students had previously done when signing the cooperation agreement between October 6 University and the National Council for Human Rights on 2nd of March, 2023.
The event was attended by the Dean of the College, Dr. Faten Hassan Abdel Azim, and a number of students from different levels of the college.
