Faculty of Applied Arts, 6th of October University
 
The first accredited private college by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education in Egypt civilization is the cumulative result of human creativity in both technical and artistic innovation. The faculties of applied arts have contributed to this cultural accumulation and have been able to adapt to technological advancements and innovations. They have been able to meet the diverse needs of society at different levels.
 
The Faculty of Applied Arts at 6th of October University is considered the first private college of applied arts established in the Arab Republic of Egypt by Presidential Decree No. 343 of 1994. It began its academic year in 1999/2000.
 
The college aims to prepare distinguished designers who can enhance the competitiveness of products through their ability to innovate and create in design. It aims to meet the needs of society, contribute to intellectual development, align with the requirements of the job market, keep pace with technology and digital transformation, and align with future directions of sustainable development and applied scientific research to improve the quality of life.
 
The college includes a distinguished group of professors and design experts in various specializations. In addition, the university is committed to providing computer labs, modeling facilities, and specialized workshops to train students. It serves as a service and advisory center that provides technical support to industrial institutions.
 
The Faculty of Applied Arts, 6th of October University, offers Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. degrees in the following specializations:
 
Interior Design and Furniture.
Advertising.
Photography, Cinema, and Television.
Product Design.
Fashion Design and Technology.
The college follows the credit hours system, and the duration of study is five academic years (ten semesters) to obtain a Bachelor's degree in one of the scientific departments of the college. The study begins with the preparatory year (first level) for all students, then the student specializes in one of the disciplines, and the study period for each specialization is four years. Students graduate after completing 160 credit hours.
