Department of English Language 

The Mission of the English Language Program: 

The program aims at promoting a caliber of graduates who are able to master both the Arabic and English languages as well as linguistic, scientific, critical, cultural, literary, and research skills. Graduates are qualified to work in a variety of fields to promote mutual communication between the different cultures.

The Objectives of the English Language Program:

The graduate should be able to:

1-      Master the language to develop a distinctive oral and written linguistic expression to meet the requirements of the job market.

2-      Focus on the theoretical and practical translation skills as a major target in the program. Various types of translation written, simultaneous, at-sight and consecutive are studied. Linguistic laboratories are utilized to encourage the student to master the art of translation from Arabic into English and vise versa.

3-      Study the Arabic language and culture to qualify the student to be familiar with and able to face the difficulties of translation.

4-      Focus on the research side to promote a caliber of gradates who are capable of critical thinking applying the latest technological means.
