Dr. Gehan M. Anwar Deeb, lecturer in English Literature, Faculty of Languages & Translation, was the guest of Qaheret Al-Mo'ez TV show broadcasts on the 1st Channel (Aloula) in the Egyptian TV Network. Dr. Gehan talked about how translation movements are always followed by great achievements, e.g., the Arab movements of translating the ancient Greek scientific manuscripts into Arabic during the golden age of the Islamic civilization, and how the fruits of its renaissance were transferred, in a counter movement, from Arabic into Latin first to Spain and then to all Europe. In addition to the impact of such movements on the English language that borrowed many Arabic term with the same pronunciation in what is called "word etymology". Dr Gehan also highlighted how to make benefit from this historical perspective nowadays in translating modern science into Arabic and vice versa, a fact that paves the way for the Egyptian scholars' innovation, as most developed countries have been doing.
